Exhibition work of Matsuda Hirochika (マツダヒロチカ)

Written in a variety of ways,　マツダヒロチカ、romanized as Matsuda Hirochika, is a graphic designer from Japan who creates high contrast bold pieces with an extensive use of positive and negative space.

This piece has text to the right of the image in vertical script directionality that roughly asserts “(Even in) origin everyone is the winner”

This piece features what seem to be sperm-like forms in a triangle formation marching towards an unknown end. The one at the top or “front” is a striking red color in contrast to the other black figures. Additionally, all the other “sperm” are crossed out. The formation is similar to a sports bracket, leaving the victor on top. This mode of visual communication is very cohesive between the text and the image. This poster is part of Matsuda's own personal exhibition and has no corporate affiliation. 

Matsuda is an art director who is versed in a variety of physical and digital imagemaking tools and has won a variety of awards for his work including Japan Graphic Designers Association, Art Directors Japan, Tokyo Art Director's Club, alongside many more.
